In "An Exercise in Fatality" Milo Janus (played by Robert Conrad) is a successful entrepreneur, owning a chain of health spas. However, his business partner Gene Stafford becomes furious after discovering that Milo has been overcharging their own corporation for supplies and equipment, and hiding the profits in offshore accounts. Gene's death is later ruled as an "accident," but Columbo, a police lieutenant, suspects foul play. Milo has a solid alibi, but Columbo senses something is amiss behind his charming facade and perfectly fit exterior.
Robert Conrad (March 1, 1935 – February 8, 2020) was an American actor, singer, and stuntman. He is best known for his roles in the television series "The Wild Wild West" and "Baa Baa Black Sheep" (later titled "Black Sheep Squadron"). Conrad was born in Chicago and grew up in Los Angeles. He began his career as a recording artist and later transitioned to acting. He appeared in numerous television shows and movies throughout his career, often playing tough-guy roles. In addition to his acting work, Conrad also worked as a stuntman and performed many of his own stunts on "The Wild Wild West" and other productions. Conrad was known for his rugged good looks, intense stare, and his famous catchphrase, "Let's go, pal!" He continued to act in films and television shows until his death in 2020 at the age of 84.
